Adapted Vehicle Hire News Update: AVH up for major award
Adapted Vehicle Hire (AVH) has been shortlisted for a prestigious public relations award for its efforts promoting travel independence to disabled motorists.
Partnered with PR and communications agency Acceleris, AVH is up for the ‘Best Integrated and Marketing Communications Campaign’ at the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire CIPR PRide Awards 2012.
This recognises efforts made in communicating AVH’s services and I-drive to the target audience, which includes disabled motorists, and the carers and families of disabled people.
The portal provides impartial information for the disabled community that includes advice on options for specialist adapted and wheelchair accessible vehicles, as well as information on travel, independence and mobility. It also features regular disability news, as well as insights from guest bloggers such as disabled racing driver Aaron Morgan.
Swimmer Matthew Whorwood, who is sponsored by AVH and tipped to do well at this year’s Paralympic Games, said: “AVH is providing a valuable service to help disabled people regain their independence and I’m happy to spread the word.”
Matt has a condition called Achondroplasia, which is a type of dwarfism. Read more about his sporting achievements here.
