Adapted Vehicle Hire News Updates: P Pod wins Naidex National 2012 Style Award
Specialised Orthotic Services’ P Pod is the winner of the Naidex National 2012 Style Award, according to the Burton Mail.
The award showcases products for the disabled that are functional, as well as cutting edge, attractive and aesthetically pleasing.
The P Pod is a specialist device consisting of a seat, a bolster support and beanbag and is moulded to a person’s individual needs.
This year’s style award was judged by Paralympic swimmer Matt Whorwood who is sponsored by Adapted Vehicle Hire. Matt attended this year’s Naidex, the UK’s largest disability, homecare and rehabilitation show, to support Adapted Vehicle Hire and was asked by organisers to judge the award.
Specialised Orthotic Services provides products for the disabled and were delighted to beat off competition from more than 100 other companies and products to scoop the accolade.
“The P Pod is one of our most popular products. It offers a whole different seating experience for those with specialised seating needs and is great for a range of ages from infants to young adults,” a spokesman said.
In other news, the Supreme Court last week ruled councils must be open and transparent about how they reach decisions on the funding of home care packages for individuals, potentially making it easier for thousands of people across the country to get access to social care.
