Guest Blog – Paralympian Matt Whorwood – I am so proud of our British spectators! (8 Aug 2012)
I am sure many of you have been doing the same but I have been tuning into the Olympic Games which are currently taking place.
It is a fantastic spectator event and it is so good to see the huge British crowds supporting our home athletes. It is even more pleasing to see how well as a nation we are doing and I for one am very proud. Watching all of the venues and activity going on is building even more excitement for me with the fast approaching Paralympic Games. I was amazed by the opening ceremony and wait with much anticipation of what they will bring out the bag for the next one.
Other than a now large increase in television watching, my life is very much still filled with training, making those final tweaks as the run in really begins.
Although this is my second Paralympic Games I am still filled with the same giddy excitement, apprehension and nerves as I was for Beijing and am looking forward to getting into that pool as soon as possible!
